Covers of the past

When we decided to bring Billy The Kit back to Kickstarter, we knew we needed to bring our "A" cover game, because since we picked the series up for publication, some of the biggest cover artists in the business have graced our book with their work.

We're going to dedicate a future update to each of the 4 virgin variants in this campaign, but wanted to start with some of the covers we've had in the past so you can see the shoes Dave Wachter, Pablo Verdugo, Mike Camelo and Keith Curtis were stepping into when they agreed to come on board...

Thanks to backers like you, we have hit our fundraising goal in just two days! When we launched this campaign, we knew the Kickstarter Comics community was hungry for great stories and great art... we were not expecting this!

As a treat (especially for all of you who have not read Billy The Kit before) we're going to show you the first few pages of the new book below, complete with letters. These pages give you a VERY good idea as to why we say this is a book for "mature readers"... It's so hard to get across to people all the reasons we love Billy The Kit. Billy is a badass and he doesn't crack a ton of jokes, so in a few campaign images you don't really get to see how wacky the characters are, how funny the book is, and how awesome the villains are.

In the pages below, you'll meet two of our favorite new characters, Cletus and Nibbles. Cletus is a mole with a gift for believing his own BS, and Nibbles is an insane, cock-eyed squirrel, who somehow is always munching on a handful of peanuts. And the Bull doesn't even have a name in Justin's script because... well... you'll see...

See?  How are you supposed to express to someone how much FUN this is in a sentence or a headline?

Comics are awesome you guys. Thanks for supporting us so we can keep making them.

We were at MegaCon in Orlando this year, and a gentleman walked up to me and said "Would you like to be my first?"

I wasn't sure if I was being propositioned or threatened.

Turns out, the gentleman was Keith Curtis, and he was asking if we would be the first publishers to look at his portfolio... EVER. We were stunned at how good the work was, so we exchanged info and a few weeks later we asked Keith to do a cover for this campaign. It's his first ever published work, and here it is:

We are so happy for him (and us for "discovering" him).

This virgin variant reward was already listed in the campaign, and the cover art has been added - available as an ADD-ON if you've already pledged but love this cover!

Friends - we are just amazed at the support that the Kickstarter Community has given us so far. We are just 5 hours into our 30 day campaign, and we've already made it 52% of the way to our goal!

Also we felt this would be a good time to clarify a few small things and make sure that you all have the best possible experience working with us...

• A few people have asked about ordering 2 of the VIRGIN VARIANT covers, and the way that we structured the rewards does not allow for that. We were planning to allow add-ons at the fulfillment stage, but in the interest of making this easy for you we are going to add add-ons right here on Kickstarter. Check back in about two hours and you'll see them there.
• Very important - SHIPPING FOR ALL PHYSICAL ITEMS WILL BE CALCULATED AND CHARGED BY THE PLEDGE MANAGER AT THE CLOSE OF THE CAMPAIGN!
